Git, a foul beast

Cower, hide, or flee; for Git emerges from the shadows. Give wide birth and make many a blood sacrifice to your gods when there is no escape, for Git is truly a foul beast summoned of pure evil from the depths of hell.

Some have heard that Git supports a CVS or SVN workflow; Git wants you to believe many things… None may know the true purpose behind its actions. Fear and bewilderment are signs of sanity.

Eyes open! Every Git command will do the bidding of Git the incarnate. When used with (or without) the right options, every command can and will corrupt your entire source control repository. Because, Git, is the immortal and you are nothing.

Always work on a branch, not because you want to or because it suites your workflow, but because Git requires it of you.

Always --rebase and when it fails, fix, 'git add foo', then 'git rebase --continue'. Ask no questions; pray you will live to see the sun rise one more time or take your own life now while you are still free.
